Alex Boellner: In ecommerce, no two companies are the same. Many different softwares have a one-size-fits-all solution. Their software does this process this way. With Sellercloud, you have the ability to change almost every step of the process.
Alex Boellner: After we were fully onboarded with Sellercloud, it was almost like a deer-in-the-headlights moment because I had never had access to so much data in a single, consolidated place. The order volume went from just a couple hundred orders a month to well over a thousand orders a month, and we’ve grown the company catalog to just over 15,000 unique SKUs.
Alex Boellner: Sellercloud lets you control, automate, and filter orders and inventory in hundreds of ways, so you can set up custom workflows, filters, and reports, and analyze profitability based on almost any data point you need. We’re a jewelry ecommerce company. We sell wholesale direct to consumer, and we also work with most major retailers on a dropship model.
Alex Boellner: Before Sellercloud, we used a different order and inventory management system. The inventory accuracy was not nearly as strong as it is with Sellercloud, and product would go missing or wasn’t being tracked properly, and the integrations and ability to really dive down into the selling and profitability by SKU and by channel, and our old system didn’t have very robust reporting.
Alex Boellner: The support had declined. Their responses were copy and pasted, so we began looking for a new order management system that could do everything we needed. Then we decided on Sellercloud. Our old order management system cut the cord on us. They gave us one week’s notice that they were discontinuing our use of their software, so it became a sprint to get fully onboarded and wrap everything up.
Alex Boellner: So I reached out to our account rep, and he looped in a number of his colleagues. Within one week, we got everything fully set up and started running all our orders through Sellercloud. It was a stressful week, but we managed to do it, and I don’t know any other support team that would have pulled five or six people off their day-to-day tasks to help us get that done.
Alex Boellner: With the old system we used, we didn’t have a way to track how many orders each employee was picking per hour or shipping per day. Since switching to Sellercloud and Skustack, we’re able to track many more metrics.
Alex Boellner: We can see in real time who is picking each order, who is packing it, where the order originated from, its profitability, and how long it took from picking to when it left the building and was scanned by the carrier. So, the level of detail we can drill down into is vastly superior to our previous systems.
Alex Boellner: With the old system, on average, we had at least 10 to 15 orders per day that were either partially out of stock, came in with an unknown SKU, or had some kind of issue that held them up for fulfillment. After switching to Sellercloud, that number dropped by 65 to 80%.
Alex Boellner: Profitability has greatly increased. We have the ability in Sellercloud to set rules for a minimum margin threshold, and if an order comes in that doesn’t meet our profitability requirements, it’s automatically flagged. Sellercloud is very receptive to user feedback and has quickly implemented many of the feature requests we’ve submitted. Now we’re looking at how we can get as much data as possible and how we can optimize and automate as much as possible.
Alex Boellner: If you find yourself doing the same task, whether it’s downloading orders and creating labels, uploading tracking back to a retailer, or manually updating inventory, week over week for more than three weeks, start looking at automation. If the task is the same each week, there’s a way to automate it, and chances are Sellercloud has a way to do it.
