Moses Knopfler, Partner, Brand Name Lighting
Before Descartes Sellercloud

Brand Name Lighting is an ecommerce retailer founded in 2019 that specializes in electrical supplies and lighting products. Initially, the company sold exclusively through Amazon and built its reputation through exceptional customer service, a 100% customer satisfaction rating, and an almost 100% on-time shipping rate.
As the business grew, Brand Name Lighting wanted to expand beyond Amazon. The team planned to launch its own websites and build additional sales channels, so they wouldn’t have to rely on a single marketplace.
Before implementing Descartes Sellercloud, managing inventory across multiple channels and expanding into new marketplaces was a difficult process. They needed a better way to synchronize inventory, manage purchasing, support Amazon FBA operations, and streamline order fulfillment.
The Challenge
Inventory visibility was a major challenge. The team needed accurate insight into inventory levels across warehouses, Amazon FBA inventory, supplier inventory feeds, and multiple sales channels. Preventing overselling while maintaining product availability required constant manual oversight.
Reflecting on the company’s early growth challenges, Moses Knopfler explained, “Before working with Sellercloud, we sold only on Amazon and we were having challenges to add other marketplaces.”
Inventory management also consumed valuable time across the organization. Product Manager Eli Shamon spent hours each day reviewing inventory levels, sales performance, replenishment requirements, and purchasing decisions instead of focusing on sourcing new products and growing supplier relationships.
Managing kits, bundles, and multi-pack products added another layer of complexity because inventory needed to remain synchronized across multiple product configurations.

The Solution
Brand Name Lighting addressed these challenges by implementing Sellercloud as its centralized ecommerce operations platform. As Knopfler put it, “We use Sellercloud for everything in one place.”
With Sellercloud, Brand Name Lighting gained complete visibility into inventory across warehouses, marketplaces, and fulfillment channels. The platform allows the company to reserve inventory specifically for Amazon FBA and exclude out-of-stock items from other sales channels.
Knopfler also noted that Sellercloud helped streamline inventory allocation and prevent overselling: “With Sellercloud, we can manage the entire process of purchasing so we don’t oversell. It’s much easier to make sure we have the right inventory and set aside inventory just for FBA so that it doesn’t feed or offer it anymore to the other sites..”
The company also uses Sellercloud’s reporting and forecasting tools to simplify inventory planning and replenishment. Profit and loss reports, inventory reports, restock reports, and predictive purchasing capabilities provide the operational visibility needed to support growth.

For Eli Shamon, one of the biggest benefits was the ability to spend less time managing inventory and more time focusing on growth opportunities. As he explained, ” Predictive purchasing is very important to us. And that just cuts out a lot of time and makes it easier for me to focus on new items and existing items and identify what can be improved.”
Shortly after implementing Sellercloud, Brand Name Lighting launched its primary ecommerce website, added a second website, and began preparing a third site targeting electrical contractors and distributors.
Sellercloud’s centralized catalog management allows product information and imagery to flow seamlessly across websites and marketplaces, simplifying channel expansion. Sellercloud also improved inventory management for kits, bundles, and multi-pack products by automatically tracking inventory across all related SKUs.
After Sellercloud

One of the most significant results was sales growth. Within three months, the company achieved its goal of doubling Amazon order volume. Describing the milestone, Knopfler said, “We made the goal to double our orders on Amazon in three months, and we really did it. We had 100% growth in the number of orders on Amazon.”
The company also successfully expanded beyond Amazon by launching additional ecommerce websites and increasing its marketplace presence across Walmart, eBay, and other channels.
Sellercloud also enabled Brand Name Lighting to sell products beyond its physical inventory by incorporating manufacturer inventory feeds. Customers receive clear information about available inventory and estimated fulfillment timelines, improving transparency while expanding product availability.
Looking ahead, Brand Name Lighting continues to pursue ambitious growth goals, including reaching 100,000 Amazon FBA orders per month. With stronger visibility into inventory and operations, the company has the confidence to continue growing without sacrificing inventory accuracy, fulfillment performance, or the customer experience that helped build its reputation.
