If you will be unable to process orders for an extended period of time; for example, you are going on vacation, you have the option to set your channel account to vacation mode. This action must be applied to the actual channel account, such as Seller Central.
Click the links below for instructions on how to set your accounts to vacation mode. Applying a vacation mode will prevent your items from being purchased, or even viewed:
- Amazon
Amazon offers two options to choose from for vacations, holidays, and other absences.
- Vacation Mode is a setting in Seller Central which allows FBM sellers to temporarily deactivate product listings, removing them from Amazon search results. Changing your Listings Status to Inactive will remove your self-fulfilled listings from Amazon product detail pages and search results within one hour. When you are ready to sell again, you can change the status of your listings back to Active. Learn more about Amazon’s Vacation Settings here.
- The Global Fulfillment Latency allows buyers to purchase from your Amazon account while temporarily delaying the required fulfillment time. With this option, the FBM seller is still responsible for packing and shipping all orders based on the selected delivery time from the customer.
- eBay Vacation Mode
- To configure your eBay Vacation Mode, you can use the Time Away function in your eBay account. When scheduling your time away keep in mind that if you allow item sales, your time away can be up to 15 days and if you pause item sales, your time away can be up to 30 days. You can learn more about it by following this link.
- Sears Vacation Mode – The quickest way to remove your listings from Sears.com in the event your business is temporarily closed is to set the inventory to 0 for all items:
- Unchecking the “Sears Enabled” on a product’s Sears properties page
- With bulk file upload, use column header SearsEnabled with value FALSE
- In bulk from Manage Inventory page – select products > Enable/Disable for channel on action menu > Go > select Sears and Disable > Continue

- Walmart Vacation Mode – In your Seller Center, set “Additional Days Off” for all days that your office is closed. Learn more about different options for pausing operations here.
- Google Express Vacation Mode: The shipping lead time can be adjusted on an account level within your Google Merchant Center account.
- All other channels – Check with each one to see if they have a vacation mode option. If not, the following options work for most channel integrations:
- Put listings out of stock: You can raise the default safety qty on each channel’s settings page. Raising it above your inventory level will send a zero qty to the channel. Note: If the channel ends the listing when out of stock, this may cause your listings to end.
For plugin integrations: The Safety qty fields are typically created as Custom Columns. Please reach out to Sellercloud support if you are unsure which column to use for your integration type.
- Alternatively, you could make your warehouse(s) unsellable, which will zero out your items’ available inventory from that warehouse.
- Increase shipping lead time: This allows the customer to purchase while knowing that it will take time to receive the item. A default fulfillment latency field can typically be found and adjusted on the channels’ respective settings pages. You will need to review how managing shipping lead time is managed for each specific channel to see the proper way to update this information.
