Using a consignee/DocTab label as an invoice or packing slip

Due to limitations with the consignee labels, such as character limits and formatting rules, Sellercloud only recommends this for clients who typically ship fewer than 4 items per order.

ShipBridge gives you the option to use a consignee label from UPS WorldShip as an invoice/packing slip. This is done by populating fields on the consignee label form with the order information available in the Sellercloud.

Due to limitations with the consignee labels, such as character limits and formatting rules, we only recommend this for clients who typically ship fewer than 4 items per order. A key benefit of using the consignee label as an invoice/packing slip is the print speed. Because WorldShip prints the consignee label simultaneously with the label, this method is ideal for shippers who are moving a high volume of orders in a short period of time.

To setup your consignee/DocTab label:

  1. 0pen UPS WorldShip.
  2. Go to Tools > Custom Label Editor
  3. On the next page, create a custom label template. Depending on the label type that you want to print, you can specify either the DocTab or Consignee label when naming the new template.
  4. If needed, you can alter the default template to meet your needs. Typically, users will remove most of the information from the Ship From address, expect the Company Name. Users will also remove parts of the Ship To address and then add the necessary number of required reference fields (reference 1-5) and description of goods fields to suit the client’s needs. The template setup even gives you the option to insert a monochrome image, like a company logo, into the label. You can also change the fonts of various fields.
  5. Assign the newly created custom label to the Shipper Profile in WorldShip.
  6. Assign the profile.
  7. Open ShipBridge.
  8. Go to Menu > Options > Carriers > UPS tab.
  9. Click the Consignee Label button. The Consignee Label settings allow you to map values from the orders waiting to be shipped in ShipBridge to the selected Reference Fields in your custom Worldship label templates.
  10. Click Save.
