Channel Product Restrictions


Overview

Certain channels have specific guidelines regarding the types of products allowed for sale. Compliance with these policies or other regulatory restrictions might necessitate restricting specific items. Through Sellercloud’s Restrict Product For Channel feature, you can designate products as restricted, preventing their listings and updates on specified channels. These restrictions can apply to individual products, as well as product groups associated with a particular brand.

Such products are automatically excluded from posting, updating, and both inventory and pricing feeds.


Restrict Products 

Restricting a product that is already posted on a channel does not exclude it from the feed. Instead, it sets the quantity on that channel to zero.

You can restrict products individually or in bulk.

Individually 

To restrict a product for a channel:

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Manage Catalog > Open a Product.
  2. Go to Toolbox > Select a Channel.
  3. Select Actions > Restrict/Unrestrict For Channel.

In Bulk

To restrict multiple products for a channel(s):

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Manage Catalog > Select Products.
  2. Access the Action Menu > Restrict/Unrestrict For Channel.
  3. A pop-up window will appear, where you can select the Channels for which products should be restricted, as well as your desired action.
  4. Click Update.

Alternatively, you can use our Bulk Update Tool:

  1. Go to Catalog > Tools > Import Product Info.
  2. Select Bulk Product Update.
  3. Generate a template and add the relevant columns, for example:
    1. ProductChannelRestricted_Amazon
    2. ProductChannelRestricted_Bestbuy
    3. ProductChannelRestricted_Bonanza
    4. Download the template and fill in the required information. Acceptable values are True and False.
  4. Return to the Bulk Product Update grid and upload your file.

Manage Restricted Products 

You can efficiently handle all product restrictions by navigating to Catalog > Channel Restricted Products. Easily filter these restrictions by Channel and SKU, and conveniently add new restricted products using the plus icon located in the upper right-hand corner.

You can also remove restrictions by clicking on the corresponding channel icons. This action can also be performed in bulk as well, using the above-mentioned Bulk Update Tool

Channel Restricted products can be exported to Excel, by clicking on the dotted menu in the upper right-hand corner.


Restrict Brands 

You have the flexibility to control the posting and updating of listings on your preferred channels by restricting specific product brands. Once you designate these Product Brands, any associated products will automatically be restricted from the channels of your choice.

Brand Restrictions are only supported for Amazon, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, and Shopify.

To restrict brands:

  1. Go to Settings > Client Settings > Brands > Click on Edit Brand.
  1. Check the Restricted box for the channels you want to restrict.
  2. Click Save.

To unrestrict brands, simply uncheck the restricted checkbox.

  1. Select products on the Manage Inventory page.
  2. Click Action Menu > Restrict/Unrestrict for Channel > Go.
  3. Choose Restrict or Un-Restrict from the dropdown.
  4. Choose the channels > Continue.
  5. On the restricted channel’s properties, a note shows the restriction, including the user who restricted the product and the restriction timestamp.
  6. See a list of products restricted from channels under Inventory > Channel Restricted Products.
  7. To remove a restriction, select the product(s) here, choose the restricted channel from the Channel dropdown, and click Select Action > Remove Restriction from specific channels or ALL at once Go.

Restrict Brands

  1. Go to Settings > Brands > Choose a brand and press Edit.
  2. Select the channels you want to restrict and check the Restricted box.
  3. When ready, scroll down and click Save.
