Magento Categories Setup

Overview

While categories are created in your Magento Admin portal, Sellercloud can download your existing Magento Category tree so you can assign products to these categories from within Sellercloud. Sellercloud will then include the list of category-related information when updating Magento with product information.

Download Categories

To download the categories from Magento:

1. Go to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies.
2. Select your desired company > Toolbox > Magento > Categories.
3. Click the link Re-Download all categories as shown below:

Assign Categories to Products

Next, assign categories for a particular product on the product’s Magento Properties page. To do that:

1.  Navigate to Catalog > Manage Catalog.
2. Open the desired product.
3. Click Toolbox, and select Magento Properties.
4. Alternatively, to open the Magento Properties page, either navigate to the Magento icon and click the pencil icon on the Manage Catalog page, or click the Magento icon at the top of the product page.
5. In the upper-right corner, click Edit.
6. Choose your desired category from the Magento Categories list.
7. Save.

To update products in bulk with Magento categories:

1. Bulk-update products with the column header MagentoCategoryList. The expected value is the numerical category ID as shown in the above image next to the category name. If a product is a member of multiple categories, multiple category numbers can be uploaded by separating the numbers by commas.
2. Proceed with either of the following methods:

• Inventory > select products > Action Menu > Bulk Edit Magento. Select a category from the tree. Select to add as an additional category or to replace existing category selection > Save.
• Inventory > Import Product Info > Import Product Magento Attributes > download the template.
