Amazon Listings Management

Overview

Amazon Marketplace differs from other major marketplaces. Unlike other channels, it groups all sellers for the same product together on a shared listing, which is identified by a listing ID called an ASIN.

When posting products to Amazon:

  • Sellercloud can identify if a product is already listed, and, if so, find and import the correct ASIN based on the product’s UPC
  • If an ASIN does not exist for the product being listed, one must be created. (If posting items that haven not been listed on Amazon, learn how to create a new ASIN.)

This guide explains how to list products that already have an existing ASIN on Amazon and how to update existing listings.
Note: To allow posting, a product must be ready for Amazon (and should be Amazon Enabled to send the correct inventory quantity). Sellercloud sends automatic updates periodically for inventory, but you can also manually update a listing’s price, quantity, or other Amazon attributes.

Automatic pricing updates require that the service AmazonPricesUpdateService is installed on your server and the setting Allow Price Update (Regular) is enabled on the Amazon General Settings page.

Post Products on Amazon

You can post Amazon products individually or in bulk.

Individually

  1. Go to Catalog > Manage Catalog > Open a product > Toolbox > Channels > Amazon Properties.
  2. From the Actions menu, you can choose from three posting options: Post Product on Amazon, Post Product to Amazon (PartialUpdate), and Post Product to Amazon (Existing Catalog). The options are explained in the table below.

In Bulk

  1. Go to Catalog > Manage Catalog > Select your products.
  2. Click on the Action menu > Launch on Channel.
  3. In the pop-up window, select Amazon as your Channel, and choose Full, Partial, or PostToCatalog as your Option. The image shows the Launch on Channel pop-up window.

Listing Option Descriptions

The table below describes the listing options:

OPTIONACTION
Launch on Amazon Catalog from Manage Catalog page
Post to Amazon (Existing Catalog) from Amazon Properties page
Posts the items on Amazon, but the uploaded document contains minimal information that only affects your product, not the entire listing:

  • ProductID
  • Price
  • Quantity
  • ASIN
  • ProductTaxCode
  • Condition Type
  • Condition Note
  • Fulfillment Latency
Launch on Channel from Manage Catalog page
Post to Amazon from Amazon Properties page
Sends the following:

  • SKU
  • ASIN
  • TaxCode
  • LaunchDate
  • ConditionType/ConditionNote
  • Title/Brand/Bullet Points/Package Dimensions/Manufacturer/MfrPartNumber (Description)
  • MSRP/ListPrice
  • Max Order Qry

This generates a complete update file, which means any information included or not included in the feed may replace or delete product information that was entered on the listing by other sellers. This depends on whether the user has page detail control.

Note: This will delete product information in your SellerCentral account that you may have entered on the product details; for example, if you created the listing through SellerCentral and only afterward brought it into Sellercloud.

Post to Amazon (Partial Update)Sends the following:

  • SKU
  • ASIN
  • TaxCode
  • LaunchDate
  • ConditionType/ConditionNote
  • Title/Brand/Bullet Points/Package Dimensions.Manufacturer/MfrPartNumber (Description)

This feed is sent as a Partial Update, which means it only updates the information that is sent. Data that is excluded in the feed is not overwritten (for example, UPC).

Some products that you want to post on Amazon may be new to the channel and require the creation of new ASINs. For example, this happens for handmade or private-label items that are not sold by other merchants. Sellercloud offers a function to list the product directly to Amazon and create a new ASIN.

View Products Listed on Amazon

  1. Go to Catalog > Manage Catalog.
  2. Select Add filter > Amazon Statuses. The image shows the AmazonStatuses filter.
  3. Click on the Amazon Statuses filter and select Posted and Active.
Be aware that the search results return listings that are on the Amazon Active Listing Report. Sellercloud periodically runs a service that reviews products on the reports and marks them as Posted and Active. Therefore, you may have products that have been recently posted but will not be included in Posted and Active search results.

Update Amazon Listings

You can update Amazon listings individually, in bulk, or automatically.

Updating/Editing Amazon Listings

Sellercloud sends automatic updates periodically for inventory, but you can also manually update a listing’s price, quantity, or other Amazon attributes.

  • Press Update Inventory on Channel from the Action Menu. On the following page, select Amazon and press Continue.
  • Press Update Price on Channel from the Action Menu. On the following page, select Amazon and press Continue.
